Posterous & Twitter

I am very happy for Posterous team to join the Twitter team. Hopefully with some exta cash in their pockets. Hopefully this will create truly awesome blogging experiences beoynd platforms and 140 characters.

Many companies with disruptive ideas fall easilly with complacency to maintain their position and execute on what they have instead of changing and building new features every month. I'm sure Twitter's and Posterous Product Management teams combined will suprise the market - this year or the next.

Anyways, personally I am not sure if I will continue posting my opinion and picture sharing, location posts as there are quite better alternatives to my little following here. Main reasons being plain Twitter gives better global reception of (any) posts and better platform to communicate where as Posterous will probably be less relevant as a content distribution platform, unless..  - not sure if it because of UI design or input shortness of replies (or less spam) but new social paradigms that are mobile first are more to my liking and provide similar experiences (also free). Context and content.

You might find me typing longer posts to my www.salomaa.com site (it is time to update my own site for sure), Tumblr streams and Path if they only would offer better life blogging that are accessible through any device. Alternatively I am looking forward what (new) Flickr brings as well as turning my Facebook into pure public stream (when they have better UI for that).

See you with the next version. Adios.

iPhone location data

Should there be something in the terms of service for this? Even if it's not used or synced? Is this private information? What do you think?

Urban Pyramid

Checked out the 260 meters / 850 feet of Transamerica Building, San Francisco's famous landmark for the first time. Nice views but not sure how far up I'd like to be when the earthquake hits.. seems top floor is a small 20-person dining experience. Perhaps one day..
